Debademba

Debademba, meaning “big family” in Bambara language, is a musical project of a Burkinabé guitarist, Abdoulaye Traoré, and a Bamako singer, Mohamed Diaby.

They met in Paris and enlisted a host of other musicians (Bisou Bass, Philippe Monange and Yves William Ombe Monkana) to create an explosive mix of sounds inspired by African styles rooted in the Mandingo culture with a hint of blues, rock and pop.

Their debut album, called “Souleymane”, was released in 2013.
