After having spent 9 years in Europe, the Dominican songwriter/producer Alex Ferreira recently moved to Mexico looking for some “disorder and chaos”, he says.
And he’s changing his music too, as both the sound and the title of his new single “Cambio” (“Change”) suggest.
For the new record, he teamed up with Andrés Nusser, the frontman of the Chilean outfit Astro. He also replaced guitars with synths, and percussion with electronic beats.
If this first single is any indication, “Cinema Tropical” might be for Alex Ferreira what “The Age of Adz” was for Sufjan Stevens.
