ELLA is the pseudonym of an Amsterdam-based artist Ella van der Woude, who you might recognize as former band member of Amber Arcades – introduced here earlier to you – and Houses.

While classically trained, Van der Woude’s new music as ELLA is a mixture of dark folk and brooding electronics. Debut single “IDWTGTKY” (I Don’t Want To Get To Know You) is a clever ballad where we hear ELLA desperately trying not to fall in love.

For her first EP, which will be released on January 19th, ELLA got help from producer Stew Jackson who collaborated with Massive Attack before. Needless to say that we’re quite excited for the record. We actually do want to get to know you, ELLA.
