Jakarta-based group White Shoes & The Couples Company has been famous of covering traditional Indonesian songs, pushing for the restoration of the country’s cultural heritage.

“Lembe​-​Lembe” is a re-arrangement of a popular song from Indonesian-speaking regions of the Maluku Island.

The track was recorded two years ago at Studio Kapricorn located in Mauritius Pereybere area while the band was visiting the island on their way to perform at Kaloo Bang, a music festival in Reunion Island.

The song is also a tribute to the popular song-speaking regions of Indonesia and the heyday of Indonesian pop music.
