Spangle call Lilli line is Japanese post-rock trio as romantic as the math-rock act Toe, who are their friends. But contrary to Toe’s calculated and complicated sound, SCLL sound rather soft and fresh.

Partly because Toe is an instrumental band, while Spangle call Lilli line has an appealing singer, Kana Otsubo. Her voice, somehow droning, maybe even husky, rides twin guitars that float gracefully in their “Azure” sky.

Together with Ken Fujieda and Kiyosaki Sasahara, this weekend they will play their first proper concert in five years. And on November 11th, they will release “Ghost Is Dead”, Spangle call Lilli line’s 9th album (via Felicity label).

In the second video from this upcoming new album, “Feel Uneasy“, alternative rock band Mitsume’s vocalist Moto Kawabe joins them as a guest singer.
