Marcia Castro ft. Mayra Andrade

Marcia Castro is a singer from the city of Salvador, Bahia. With influences that pass through samba and Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), the singer will release her third album, “Das coisas que surgem”, in the coming weeks.

“Na Menina dos Meus Olhos”, the first single off this LP, features production from the musician Gui Amabis and its title can be translated as “The Apple of My Eye”. The song is a version for the original samba by Monsueto Menezes and Flora Mattos from 1962.

But Marcia transformed the song into a ska tropical – light, irreverent, with a touch of sensuality that comes from the participation of the singer Mayra Andrade, who was born in Cuba later moved to Cape Verde. To complete the festive mood, the single also features the percussionists Dengue and Toca Ogan from the Brazilian band Nação Zumbi.
