Pepe. & Patrick The Pan

Two young artists with the same name, Piotr Rajski and Piotr Madej teamed up for a masterfully ambiguous single “Yoko”, which is among the best Polish tracks we heard recently.

You might already know the latter Piotr, a talented Polish singer-songwriter who performs under the nickname Patrick the Pan and was presented on beehype last year.

A few months ago, he was invited by the other Piotr – a young producer currently based in Poznań and better known as Pepe. – to lend his voice to this glorious song that will appear on Pepe.’s upcoming mini-album.

Influenced as much by old jazz, contemporary sampling stars like DJ Shadow and the latest electronic producers, on his next record Pepe. wants to combine “lots of live instruments, samples cut from VHS tapes and melancholy”, as he said in an interview.

Apart from “Yoko”, he’s already shared another track from this album, “Let the Disco Children“, which is different enough to make us give up guessing what the whole effort might sound like.

While we’re witing for the big premiere, you can also check out Pepe.’s debut two-track EP two, “Lovin’“, released exactly two years ago.
