Petite Noir

Petite Noir, better known as Yannick Ilunga, is a half-Congolese, half-Angolan, South African-based musician pioneering his own sound called “noir-wave”.

This mysterious style sits somewhere between new wave with an African music and mixes electronic sounds with blues-inspired melodies and breathtaking vocals.

Ilunga was inspired from hearing Kanye’s electro-influenced album “808s & Heartbreak”, and the new genre has caught the ears of some renowned names such a Yasiin Bey and Solange.

Petite Noir released his debut EP, “The King of Anxiety”, earlier this year. One song that caught our attention was “Shadows”, but you should check out the whole EP available on Spotify and Deezer.
