At the age of just 16, Amsterdam-based Pip Blom started writing her own music. Five years later she has formed a band around her (including her brother) and is touring all over Europe.
Some time ago Pip mentioned that playing at the legendary Glastonbury Festival is the ultimate goal of her musical career; we wouldn’t be surprised if she could already tick this off her list in the near future.
Combining lo fi guitars with turbulent hooks and honest lyrics, her music reminds of Courtney Barnett and Alex Lahely. Having released a bunch of 7″ singles and EPs so far, new single “Babies Are A Lie” must be the best thing she has done yet.
It starts off quiet and waggly, but wait ’till that insanely chorus kicks in!
We truly hope Blom and her bandmates find some time in their busy tour schedule to finish their debut album. And could somebody make sure there is a spot available for these Dutch talents at the Pyramid stage next year?
