We are really excited to introduce to you the lovely Pitou. This Amsterdam songstress is readying her debut as we speak, but already gathered quite some buzz with a just couple of live recordings.
Most recently, she released an astonishing live session of “Lay This Woman”, beautifully filmed in the famous Desmet Studios in Amsterdam. “Lay This Woman” is a sparsely instrumented folk song with touching vocal performances of Pitou and her background singers.
We really hope her debut record – which is expected this fall – contains many more chamber folk gems like this one.
Bonus track: While researching Pitou I stumbled upon this cute video of her singing as a kid in a popular 00s Dutch TV show. The song is about bullying.
