Katarzia

“I have made this song together with my friend, the amazing Slovak drummer Marian Slavka, who is the most creative contemporary drummer in Slovakia,” says Katarzia, who many consider one of the brightest talents in the new Slovak trubadour scene.

Interestingly, you won’t hear any drums in “Hlboko pod obalom”. Just the piano and the alternately delicate and penetrating voice of Katarzia (real name Katarina Kubošiová), already famous for her stripped-down arrangements and bold observations about things that never get outdated.

“This song is about the depth inside of us,” says the Bratislava-based singer. Hence the title “Hlboko pod obalom”, which could be translated as “Deep under the cover”. “I am also singing about the perception of your closest person, that only she/he can understand you deeply.”
