Tani

While she’s working on her new album, Buenos Aires singer-songwriter Tani comes back to her childhood compositions.

Tani emerged two years ago in the Argentinian music scene, with the enigmatic, naive and folk debut “Uturnis“. She played her first shows just by herself and one guitar player (Francisco Villa, who also is publishing music on his own), but slowly she formed a proper band.

Currently, she’s working in her second album, planned for the first quarter of 2018. It’ll be the first album with this new electric sound. In order to know how it feels, the Buenos Aires-based musician recently published the single “League of Legends”, with two new tracks.

Not only these songs sound very different compared to the previous release, but the main difference is the language: here, she chose English.

As she said in a recent interview, these songs were composed when she was 15 years old, which means prior to her debut album.

In those days, she used to listen to music only in English and admits she didn’t know the Latin indie – and thought the local sound was just the “rock nacional”, the most massive rock movement in Argentina.

Still, she always wanted to record these songs. They’re the first she composed, and who doesn’t love the first songs by our favourite artists?
