This is just the second track from the “little indie band” Safeplanet, as they call themselves, obviously too modest concerning their spectacular debut single and the group members’ previous experiences.

On “Oheya” (“โอยา”), the Bangkok-based trio marries jingling guitars scattered around the stereo panorama with a bright vocal melody that carries lyrics almost as ambiguous as the title shout-out, “oheeeya”. Add male and female choruses hovering over that main dialogue and it makes an intense 4-minute indie classic.

With these two singles, Safeplanet have already positioned themselves as one of the most-promising new names in the Thai music scene. And their debut full-length album – hopefully due soon – won’t be something to miss.
