If you are not doing mainstream music, you are in a hard position in many countries. And if you are doing jazz, it’s even harder. Çağıl Kaya is one of the most exciting jazz singers of Turkish scene.
She is fascinating not only because of her voice, but her songs also avoid any clichés. She released her debut album, “Bir Parça Ay Biraz Kuş” in 2014. Many important music writers and critics chose it as the best jazz album of the year.
To date, she released two official clips from this record and “Ağır Aksak” (or “Sluggish”) is the latest one. In the meantime, she’s been also appearing in some music programmes – including Pürtelaş 3+1 – and concerts.
