Say hi to Ağaçkakan’s tremendous new single and video – the first recommendation of Turkish music scene in 2020.
Emiladil and Golem are the producers of “989”, and Ağaçkakan joins them for the arrangement. There is no need to emphasize that the song was written and sung by Ağaçkakan, one of the greatest singers of the underground hip-hop scene.
“989” was recorded in Blue Kite Audio by Mahmut Albulak, then mixed and mastered by Aaron Ahmad. The visual art for the song came from the hands of Canavar. In other words, every detail of “989” is strong and beautiful, thanks to all these great names. There is also a great video of the song that matches with the song perfectly, directed by Tuğçe Kep.
Some works are really beyond the era with their sound, their image, their underlying thoughts, their words, their voices, and the names that worked for that result. “989” is in that kind.
The year 2020 is still young, but we can say with certainty that “989” will end up as one of the best pieces of this year. And, as beehype community realised five years ago, you don’t need to understand Ağaçkakan’s lyrics to understand the strenght of the song.
