Filmed in Peru, a picturesque new video from Argentinian alternative legends Altocamet.
Altocamet is an Argentinean band founded in 1995, in the beach-side city of Mar del Plata. Because of their versatillity along all these years, it’s difficult to tag their music, but post-rock, shoegaze and dream pop are the three pillars of their sound and aesthetic.
The line-up had variations over the years, but two core members are still on the group: Pedro Moscuzza and Adrián Valenzuela. Now they’re accompanied by Mariana Monjeau. Maybe because Moscuzza is the co-founder of Casa del Puente label, the band has a strong fetish for physical editions: in total, they released 24 LPs, EPs or singles in these years.
The latest is “Atrapando Rayos” (2017), where we can find “Carro de fuego”, the chosen song for a recent videoclip. Along the mystical spirit of the lyrics, the video was recorded in Inca lands of Peru. As well as in the song, the video features Drab Majesty, the Californian musician with whom they played some shows in last June.
Now with a cult-status, the group was usually acclaimed by colleagues and critics since their beginning. They played with acts like Gustavo Cerati and Babasónicos, two mainstream artists devoted also to underground scene.
