Amanitas

“Anónima” is a spectacular rebirth of Amanitas, an all-female group from Santiago composed of Paula Rojas (keyboards), Josefa Hidalgo (guitar), Manuela Reyes (bass), Natalia Pérez (vocals and drums) and Lorena Guerra (voice and turntables).

While their 2013 debut album, “Sale el mundo a gritar”, was firmly embedded in urban sound, employing a brass section and lots of funky grooves, the band decided to take a different approach on their sophomore release. “Anónima” features more refined and deeply sensual music, mixing in elements of trip-hop and downtempo to a fresh and thrilling effect.

Just check out the chemistry in “Massacre”, a lush and intimate post-ballad, demonstrating great mastery over the mood of the song and highlighting both the individual and collective strengths of the group.

With five stunning songs, “Anónima” announces a new beginning for Amanitas and is already gaining them recognition worldwide, as the group recently toured China. Hopefully, it’s just a prelude for many great things to come.
