Atlantis Airport

Cornelius meets Clammbon” is how one could describe the progressive post-rock sound of the Tokyo-based trio Atlantis Airport.

While their name refers to the mythical kingdom of Atlantis, now under the sea, the music brings distinct female vocals surrounded by dreamy keyboard melodies.

The trio also love Nagoya-based chamber pop unit Remigai (レミ街). Remigai’s leader, Masahiro Araki (荒木正比呂), who remixed this song, says that while he tends to make one-chord loops, they make softer, more flexible beats, and they play fantastic performances.

From an old lost place, their sound flies to the future sky just like in “Hikari to Kage no Aida” (光と影の間), meaning “Between Light and Shadow”.
