Dustin Tebbutt’s recent release “Home” might be a short record, but its brevity only adds to the feeling of the songwriting quality we get with its 7 tracks.
Released about two years after his first EP, “The Breach“, Tebbutt’s new collection of songs encompasses the Sydney songwriter’s wide influences, ideas, emotions – and simply hard work, as it took him “forever” to finish this mini-album.
But when talent meets effort, there’s a chance for something extraordinary. You only need to hear the deservedly hyped single, “Silk”, to know that’s the case of this album. An intimate duo of Tebbutt and Brisbane-based singer Thelma Plum, this could be one of the finest songs Australia gave us in 2015.
