Luminous, atmospheric, relaxed – these words only scratch the surface of Awwz’s new EP, certainly one of the most exquisite Spanish releases of this year.

Released two months ago, “Glid” has made rounds around the Spanish- and Catalan-language blogosphere even though it lasts only 15 minutes. And deservedly so.

On her new release, this young Barcelona-based producer combines clever, somehow nonchalant modern R&B with minimal textures that land her music perfectly between a breather and a turn-on.

Albeit mostly instrumental, the EP includes two guest singers: Belgium’s Demmy Sober and Valencia’s Bearoid. While you can hear the whole EP on Soundcloud, here’s the glorious first track, “7Suns”, certainly one of the most memorable Spanish songs we’ve heard this year:
