Benjamín Walker

Benjamín Walker is one of the most outstanding Chilean singer-songwriters of the recent times.

Son of the Chilean singer Cecilia Echeñique, since childhood the music has been present in every corner of his house. In 2014 he presented his first album “Felicidad”, produced by Camilo Salinas (Inti-Illimani) and featuring musicians such as Fernando Julio (Javiera & Los Imposibles, Los Bipolares) and jazzmen Federico Dannemann and Jorge Díaz, as well as Manuel García for the song “Daniela”.

Three years later he presented his second album “Brotes“, a compilation of intimate and introvert songs produced by Javier Barria and influenced by the Cuban trova and artists such as Jorge Drexler and Pedro Aznar. There are 11 songs including singles “Tu Valor”, “Duelo”, “Dejar y Amar” and the most recent “Su Mirada”.

The video for “Su Mirada” was directed by the Chilean director Camila Grandi. It expresses all the feelings that this song produces. Recorded in 4:3 format, the video shows a proposal that is very much in keeping with the winter in Chile: hot coffee, cloudy days and warm clothes. Along with the performance of actress Macarena Cox, who plays a woman who must live with loneliness after a breakup.

Stream “Brotes” on YouTube and Spotify.
