Alternative rock duo from Bekasi delivered one of the best ever rock album that came out in the last ten year. Already the most anticipated album in indie rock scene for years, they did not disappoints. Tuning up to heavily influenced 90s sound, they are also exploring new possibilities like singing in Bahasa Indonesia or adding saxophone as a surprise.

Bottlesmoker <BR> “Parakosmos”


Bottlesmoker embracing the sound of Nusantara in the newest album Parakosmos. Taking inspiration from the unique texture of Indonesia’s own traditional culture, the duo mixing the field recording with electronic tunes they were known with. The result is surprisingly hypnotic and easy to listens.

Danilla <BR> “Lintasan Waktu”

“Lintasan Waktu”

The second full-length album of the increasingly popular singer-songwriter Danilla, “Lintasan Waktu” surprised the fanbase with a 180 degree turn of her musical approach. She chose to go dark and dive into the deepness of insecurity in the lyric. While the first album “Telisik” was a sweet and fun bossanova people use to chill with, this second release provides haunting melodies and suggesting something depressive.

The couple Grey Filastine and Nova Ruth are citizens of the world as they travel a lot to make and perform music. But they first met in Indonesia, where Filastine (Los Angeles born, but based in Barcelona) accidentally bumped into Nova (Malang born). Soon they formed a duet combining western and eastern music in an imaginative way. Mixing electronic cuts with exotic voice that speaks about the crumble of capitalistic civilization.

The self-acclaimed retro futurist Future Collective raising the bar by releasing the second album Mundo Animal. 12 tracks of Space Age Pop they delivered might not be for everyone, but the melody is surely infectious, the arrangement is intellectual and the tunes has this out-of-worldly vibe.

The pianist Gardika Gigih composed some the best cinematic experience on his debut album Nyala. The music is not written for specific film, but once the composition played the mind started to visualize a scene. Rain, is a common theme in the classical-meets-post rock sounds Gardika Gigih developed. The humble touch on the piano, the mood he builds is truly something else.
