Alessandro Fiori (Mariposa) and Marco Parente, two of the most interesting songwriters in Italy’s current musical landscape, joined forces in a new project called BettiBarsantini.

Combining their composing talent and poetic intuitions, they gave birth to an album where alternative, rock and punk perfectly melt together, with stories and surreal lyrics floating above a carpet of minimal drums, slide guitars and electronic sounds.

“Lucio Dalla”, dedicated to the recently passed Italian songwriter, is a slow alt-rock ballad that seems to follow the rhythm of waves with its dreamy mood, nocturnal guitars, gentle piano and elegant violin solo.

You can follow Betti Barsantini on Facebook and Twitter.
