Bowrain

Tine Grgurevič who mainly performs and records under name Bowrain wasn’t afraid to try out different styles, genres and approaches in his years of discovering music, especially the piano.

While he studied jazz in Amsterdam, he developed a love for electronic sounds. This resulted in his debut album “Far Out”, where he presented himself as a producer with influences in trip-hop and dance music.

Anyone lucky enough to see Bowrain live more than once could see how his idea of being a producer and a pianist evolved in the following years into a beautiful piano-led electronic ambient sound world. Later on, he was joined by two musicians: Ljubljana-based guitarist and producer Mario Babojelič and German drummer Robert Nitschke, who both added another dimension to the sound.

Their performances at Tallinn Music Week and MENT Ljubljana got a lot of international praise. And the trio idea is exactly what his second studio album “Distracted” delivers.

The album, released in November for one of the most recognizable local labels, Kapa Records, finally shows what Bowrain is up to nowadays. Its first song is conveniently named “A New Beginning”, and the last one on the album is called “Home”.

It seems Bowrain found his home in this sound. At least for a while. In January Bowrain will perform at one of the biggest European festivals focusing on new talent – “Eurosonic Noorderslag” in the Netherlands.
