Helio Flanders is a musician from the city of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso. He is the lead singer and songwriter of the folk band Vanguart, which has released three studio albums since it started in 2002.
Helio recently released his solo debut, “Uma temporada fora de mim”, which can be translated as “One Season Out of Me.” Summing up the intimate sound of the album, the title remits the solitude of living in the big cities of the world.
“De onde você vem?” (“Where do you come from?”) is the first single off this disc. The song has been clearly influenced by Argentinean tango, and the lyrics portray a confused character looking for someone. Maybe a person from the character’s past?
The song’s introspective atmosphere is reinforced by the accompanying clip directed by Ricardo Spencer, and starring the actress Paula Possani and Helio Flanders himself.
