Brihang

Brihang is the hip hop alter ego of Boudy Verleye, a young guy who’s studying sculpture and has been releasing music since the early 2010s.

Two EP’s in 2012 and 2013 were followed by a victory at De Nieuwe Lichting in 2014, and people following the Belgian music scene know what that means: a spot at Pukkelpop, one of Belgium’s biggest festivals, plus lots of airplay on Studio Brussel, a much criticised though still very influential radio station.

“Wieder” is the third single of Brihang’s full length debut album “Zolangmogelijk” that was released in 2016. The lyrics are in the dialect of his home province of West Flanders. The music is undoubtedly hip hop, even though Brihang gives it a very particular twist, as he likes to experiment with sounds and to break down barriers.

Unsurprisingly this is also one of the reasons why his music is so popular in a world that cares less and less about physical and other borders.
