Bugs of Phonon (聲子蟲)

Taiwanese instrumental rock band Bugs of Phonon showcases their signature sound layering.

Music possesses an infinite power to heal the soul, and without a doubt, there are moments in our life journey when we yearn for the soothing embrace of sound.

The Taiwanese instrumental rock band Bugs of Phonon (聲子蟲) showcases their signature sound layering once again in their third album “Long Haul (遺心病)”. The meticulous recording and careful production perfectly create a unique sonic space that belongs solely to them, with a sense of atmosphere that quietly spreads throughout the body, ultimately reassembling within the depths of the soul.

The track “Side Effects” (副作用) features a remarkable collaboration with Korean singer-songwriter Lang Lee (李瀧) – already presented on beehype – marking a rare instance of vocal pairing for the band.

Lang Lee’s distinctive spoken-singing style conveys intense emotions amidst a calm demeanor, intertwining with harmonies and a wall of guitar sounds to profoundly resonate with the listener’s heart across different channels.

Like a mysterious incantation, it wraps around the mind, stirring deep emotional responses akin to a haunting spell.
