Calcutta

Just before the end of the year, Latina-based group Calcutta released their new album, “Mainstream”, and this title turned out almost prophetic.

With singles like “Cosa mi manchi a fare” and the most recent one, “Frosinone”, released a week before Christmas, the band indeed went (almost) mainstream.

On this new effort, Calcutta offer concise and accessible songwriting that can bear comparisons with sophisticated turn-of-the-century pop rock, and combine it with stories that you won’t hear on the radio too often.

As long as they are able to maintain it, we don’t mind Calcutta going even more mainstream.
