Colornoise

Last year we introduced experimental outfit Colornoise from Heredia as one to keep eyes on. Sonya Carmona, Allison Alvarado and Mari Navarro are about to explode our heads and ears with their sound spell once again.

At this point we can tell powerful Colornoise is one of the most exciting acts in Costa Rica due to their third album just around the corner. With handcrafted noise-rock leaded by mysterious and emotional lyrics, the girl band is bringing “She Was Machine” as their new single.

Just as “Amalie”, the previous single, Colornoise is still looking for minimalistic themes mixed up with harsh and emotional sounds on “She Was Machine”. Mari Navarro’s appearance on synths establishes the start of a kraut dramatic scenario. Sonya’s vocals on that feminist and yet futuristic story synchronizes with beats from drummer Alison Alvarado.

“She was machine” is a great experimental tune, which defines Colornoise’s ideals on abolishing sound paradigms. There’s no news about upcoming singles or the LP’s release date, but at least we can guess how does an apocalyptic scene (think on Asimov’s climax lines) sounds like with “She Was Machine” and “Amalie”.
