Dagadana

Dagadana is a Polish-Ukrainian band established in 2007 by Daga Gregorowicz and Dana Vynnytska, with Mikołaj Pospieszalski joining in a year later.

As a trio, the they have released two critically acclaimed albums: “Maleńka” in 2010 and “Dlaczego nie” in 2011. Their sound primarily draws on folk filtered through contemporary styles like jazz, pop, and electronic music.

This eclectic mixture can be heard on “List do Ciebie” (“A Letter to You”), a title track from their brand new record: a concept album dedicated to a nearly forgotten Polish poet from the early 20th century – Janusz Różewicz.

The album finds Dagadana employing drums and percussion as an integral part of their music for the first time in the band’s history. Two accomplished drummers, Frank Parker Jr. and Bartosz Mikołaj Nazaruk, are featured on the record, with the latter joining the line-up as a permanent member.

“List do Ciebie,” therefore, marks a new chapter for the group, as Dagadana continue as a quartet, expanding their already global sound in new and exciting directions.
