Mumbai based Ferry Tales’ recently released single “Home” is something that I feel strikes a chord with almost every listener.
It would feel right in place in your casual Sunday playlist but could also be right up there if you’re looking for something with a bit more complexity.
As exhibited in their three track debut EP “There She Goes“, the quartet has a knack of making colourful songs that are as catchy as deep, with sweet, melodic guitar licks and energetic yet intricate drumming being some key features of their brand of uncommon songwriting.
With the lyrics to Ferry Tales’ latest single addressing the human tendency to try and find a larger meaning to one’s life, the singer ponders over one thought; will he be satisfied when he finally attains his goal, or is man’s life a never ending search for meaning?
“Home” is a stellar representation of all that makes this act stand out. A sonically complete song comprising of a myriad of elements blended together in just the right proportion, this release has real potential to stay with you for a long time.
And, at the very least, make you keep an eye out for an act that seems to be shaping into something really exciting.
