Francisca Valenzuela

It’s been 1,5 year since Francisca Valenzuela gave us her third album, “Tajo abierto”. It says a lot about the quality of that record that the Chilean-American singer-songwriter still keeps releasing singles from that LP.

Out of 11 tracks included on that album, “Catedral” is the fourth that has received a video treatment. This hallucinatory, psychedelic clip was directed Ignacio Rojas and along with the mysterious track it makes Francisca’s best single yet – unless you prefer something to dance.

While the video also has an interactive version, the song itself “focuses on self-celebration and the body as a ‘holy temple’,” Valenzuela explained.

In a way, this clip might be her farewell with her last album, as she’s taking a few months’ break right now. Hopefully she comes back with some long-awaited news later this year. In the meantime, let’s spend a few moments in the “Catedral”.
