Fufanu

After today’s concert in New York, Fufanu will tour a dozen European countries, and all of that even before the relase of their debut album, “Few More Days To Go”, at the end of November.

There are two surprising things about this Icelandic group. First, how quickly they gained attention of listeners (including Roskilde attendees), critics (Iceland’s “Band to Watch in 2015” according to Grapevine magazine), but also of acclaimed musicians. In November, they’ll tour Europe with John Grant. Earlier, they played as the supporting act of Damon Albarn.

The second suprise is how smoothly the inconspicuous techno duo of Kaktus Einarsson and Guðlaugur Einarsson – called Captain Fufanu at the time – evolved into a full-fledged rock quintet who hit the spot for audiences as wide as fans of Disclosure, Interpol, Simple Minds, Roxy Music, and – that’s happening right now – John Grant.

“Now” is the opening track of “Few More Days To Go”, which comes out on 27th November via One Little Indian. Another great addition to the label’s roster, which already includes Ásgeir, Samaris, and one Björk.
