Hear the first taste of Girls In Hawaii’s upcoming new album, “Nocturne”, which is coming out in just six weeks – and catch them playing at Pukkelpop festival if you can.
Girls In Hawaii formed in 2000 and managed to gather success quite quickly with their happy adventurous indie rock. The band has always taken its time to release records, sometimes forced by unfortunate events. In 2010 Girls In Hawaii lost their drummer Denis Wielemans when he did not survive a car crash.
In the spring of 2017 Girls In Hawaii unveiled “This Light”, announcing their upcoming album “Nocturne”, that will be available on 29 September. The new single sounds familiar thanks to the vocals, and seems to explore new paths at the same time, with an overwhelming sound that comes close to Mercury Rev in their best period, round the turn of the centuries.
Is this an indication for the sound of the entire new album? We will find out in just a bit more than one month from now. Or sooner, because probably the show by Girls In Hawaii at Pukkelpop on 17 August will reveal some more new songs.
