Hibrid & Ajla Ramic

“The Earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the Earth.”

“Zemja Spava” (“The Earth Sleeps”) is the name of the first single of Mostar’s Ajla Ramic and her colleague Dino Aganović Hibrid. It is also the first official release of the new label called Podmornica that will promote alternative and experimental music from local musicians and bands.

After they met last summer in Mostar, Hibrid and Ajla decided to combine electronic music and poetry, and in less than a year they released this first song and video. “The Country Sleeps” is a mixture of poetic lyrics and dreamy electronica, with the characteristic atmosphere of Hibrid’s music.

The video for the song was shot in Mostar, produced by Submarine Vibes Labels in cooperation with Adnan Ling. It was filmed in the Neretva Hotel. Unfortunately it has been destroyed in the horrific civil war in the 1990s and it still hasn’t been renovated.

There are many buildings around Mostar that show the impact of the war, and the bombed out Hotel Neretva is a reminder of what we need to steer clear of.

Ajla Ramic was born in 1993 in Mostar. In her spare time she writes surrealistic poetry and in her texts in a special way presents her emotions and thoughts.

Hibrid, after releasing the first album “Izgubljeni” (“Lost”) last year, has achieved a significant regional success and has been described as a refreshment for the scene of electronic music. With this song, Hibrid announces new music that will be released soon.

Digital electronic music label Submarine Vibes has already published more than 50 released with over than 150 artists from different countries around the world, so that’s something all beehype fans should enjoy.
