HOAR

If you think HOAR is a mysterious band name, you probably haven’t listened to their song “Venice of the North” yet. There’s mystery all over the place.

First of all it starts with a few consecutive melody lines that are all of a good enough quality to be used as brilliant standalone intro’s. The common denominator is that they all sound like they have some bad news to announce.

This is followed by a mix of sweet and comforting high vocals and a variety of musical patterns that constantly seem to vacillate between hope and despair.

“Venice of the north” is HOAR’s very first single. If the members, who are based in Brussels but come from all over Flanders, manage to write more songs like this one, the future may look very bright bright.
