んoon

Future soul quartet from Sugamo, Tokyo, んoon (pronounced “hoon”) plays ethereal music with harp, keyboards and female whispers.

Earlier this year, they released their second EP called “Body” on the label Flake Records – a follow up to their 2018 EP “Freeway”.

The first video off this EP, “Gum”, starts with the sound of rain drops. But we soon find ourselves in a strange situation, in a house made entirely with computer graphics.

In this video, we can see んoon’s wearing an armour or a military uniform. Some animated animals and dolls are also seen, as they gradually unite in a dance.

The vocalist JC sings repeatedly: “My body doesn’t wear any intention but carries meaning to strip humanity”

With this video directed by Akihiko Taniguchi, it seems they play not only to break music genres, but also to break the walls existing between nations, ethnic groups, humans and even animals.
