Gesu no Kiwami Otome

Following elegant piano sound, a distinct voice shouts. After an intense performance, they put on traditional Japanese Noh (能) masks. As if they wanted to hide all of their feelings – except anger. Anger about this age, or maybe about the government.

Enon Kawatani (川谷絵音), the singer of emotional rock band indigo la End, is also the leader of Gesu no Kiwami Otome (ゲスの極み乙女。, or if I can dare the translation: Hyper Bitch). While the first band tends to sound like Oasis or Blur, the latter one are closer to Gorillaz. Thus, they call themselves “progressive hip-hop”.

The title of their new single, “Watashi Igai Watashi Janaino” (私以外私じゃないの), means “All People Except Me Are Not Me”. No one can feel my feelings, we are all alone in this cruel world. Statesmen never help us, we should protect our loved ones ourselves.
