Two angelic voices and some discrete keyboards is all it takes for JUICY to impress in their new single “Something is Gone”.
We didn’t do it on purpose, but after having presented the Flemish girls of Lili Grace in our previous Belgian post, we’re now introducing you to JUICY, two young ladies from Brussels. They are playing the majority of the most important festivals in the French speaking part of our country in 2018, and that’s not a coincidence.
A few years ago JUICY started making music mainly to play their own versions of R&B and hip-hop classics. While these influences are still very clear on the EP “Cast A Spell” they released earlier this year, the song we’re highlighting now proves that the two are capable of doing much more than that.
“Something is gone” definitely has some influences coming from R&B and soul. You would not be called crazy, however, if you describe this song as art-pop as it could easily appear on an album by CocoRosie or more recent bands like Let’s Eat Grandma. Two angelic voices and some discrete keyboards is all it takes for the girls to impress in this song.
