Konradsen

Leave it to Konradsen to mesmerize you with their unique musical universe.

There comes a time in Norway when the sun leaves for the winter. This is especially true for the northern part of the country, where the band Konradsen comes from. Luckily there is music.

Konradsen’s debut album “Saints and Sebastian Stories” is like a shining light in the dark. It’s composed of delicate layers of mechanical pianoes, synths, horns, a lonesome violin and the signature voice of Jenny Marie Sabel. Together with Eirik Vindgren she forms the duo who, with a little help from their friends, recorded the album.

“Saints and Sebastian Stories” is rich in devine and everyday details. There are weird sounds and voices coming, arriving from local “caracters” like “Big Bruce”, preaching in the opening the video “Televison Land”, one of the highlights on the album.

On “Dice” Sabel sings: “Why do we keep on going back to places we never should?” The song is captivating and intimate thanks to the soulful piano and unique voice.

If you like what you hear, try listening to the whole album from start to finish. It’s one of those albums where you can press play and just zone out. And those albums are quite rare to find these days.
