Mevrouw Tamara is the pseudonym of Tamara van Esch who released her wonderful third record “In Je Hoofd” (In Your Head) last December.
For this record she wanted to take a different approach: the recording had to be more spontaneous and sketchy. She collaborated with Roy and Paul of Figgie which turned out to be a productive collaboration.
The lyrics on her record deal with themes like mental health and difficulties in intimacy. The stories aren’t necessarily personal, but Van Esch felt the urge to write songs about these important issues.
One of the highlights is the aerial single “Jij Fantaseert Liever” (You’d Rather Fantasize), which seems describe a toxic relationship. The song comes with a beautiful video with choreography by the collective MAN || CO.
