Mister and Mississippi

Fans of crafty songwriting and wonky electronic music better hurry up and check out Dutch quartet Mister and Mississippi.

So Mister and Mississippi had a small internal revolution last year. The band was known for their introspective, gloomy folk, but decided it was time to drastically reinvent their sound. Instead of dreamy acoustic guitars their new music is filled with pulsating synths and groovy hooks.

The quartet from Utrecht released their third record “Mirage” a couple of weeks ago. Our favourite track is definitely lead single “Lush Looms”, which sounds – unsurprisingly – quite lush. We cannot get that addictive chorus out of our head.

Wonderfully the voice of lead singer Maxime works even better on top of gloomy synths than it did with the older, acoustic stuff. Fans of crafty songwriting and wonky electronic music better hurry up and check out this Dutch foursome.
