Emeka Ogboh weaves together disparate sonic impressions of Lagos and other urban environments.
I just love this official explanation of what Emeka Ogboh does in his life: “Using interviews and field recordings of city streets, markets, vendors and traffic, Emeka Ogboh weaves together disparate sonic impressions of Lagos and other urban environments into long-form, ambient, dubby electronic compositions.”
“6°30′33.372″N 3°22′0.66″E” is her second album, released two years after his impressive debut “Beyond The Yellow Haze”, and those numbers in the title take you exactly to the middle of Nigeria’s capital where Ogboh collected the aforementioned sonic impressions and weaved them together into a musical hymn to the fascinating, ever-changing city.
