Three-person electro-music group Gravity Alterstra makes dark edgy electronic tracks that could be best compared to alternative dance musicians such as Uffie or Azalea Banks.
Electronic. The lead single off of leading Hong Kong electronic musician Choi Sai Ho’s second album “SYNC” is an electro charged 4/4 dance track that is infectiously catchy.
Although she’s studied accountancy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Tang Yi (唐藝) found music sheets much more interesting than spreadsheets. After the release of her debut EP, “Seriously“, in April, the radical change in her career seems like the right decision.

Fusing old and new, East and West, the band Chock Ma (戳麻) is a testament to creative music in Hong Kong. Their sound is a melting pot of Chinese instrumentation, post rock, heavy metal, folk music, and 80’s canto-pop. I bet you would be hard pressed to find another band that sounds like them. Their first single “Bird Speech” (“鳥語”) from their debut album Dharma Bums is a good example of their unique sound. A band to watch.

Local math rockers tfvsjs have been making waves since they first hit the scenes a few years ago. While they do wear their influences on their sleeves, the band clearly has a talent and chemistry. If their daring meter changes don’t get you excited, then their double percussion section should – yes, the band has two drummers.
