Long Arm took up making music when he was a kid. In music school he studied how to play piano. He was really impressed by a DJ’s performance on one of the music channels when he saw it for the first time.

Kedr Livanskiy’s new track was recently mentioned again by Pitchfork. For non-Russian listeners this project by Yana Kedrina seemed to appear out of nowhere, but in fact she has been well-known in Russia for a while.
Parks, Squares and Alleys is my personal favs from Russian independent music scene. They are a real nugget in numerous indie pop bands appeared last few years.
“The Cherry Pit” is an epic second single from the forthcoming sophomore album “Grandfeathered” by Russia’s newest independent music gem – Pinkshinyultrablast.
Based in Moscow, Lev Vasilets is not only a singer, guitarist, keyboardist and songwriter, but also a good producer of a wide range of styles and genres.
“This song is about family issues as if it tells a classic story of family meeting at the bedside of a dying relative,” tells us Synecdoche Montauk (Синекдоха Монток), an electronic indie-folk group from Moscow, about their recent track “Familia” (Фамилия).
“This song was written last year for our second album, and it’s about the state of California. It’s my favourite place in the world,” says Ivan Starzev, one of the four members of the Perm-based group Mars Needs Lovers (Марсу Нужны Любовники).
Besides playing guitar in the group Naadya, Russian musician Maria Teryaeva also records under the monicker Dub I Prosto Derevo (Дуб и просто дерево, meaning Oak and Just a Tree).
