27-year old singer-songwriter and producer Yoachim has spent several years studying music sheets during his time at Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, but he obviously prefers electronic devices.
The first single off his recent debut EP, “Isn’t That Gone”, is a full-fledged electro/synth-pop track bringing together murky textures, high-tempo beats and high-pitched vocals. Just like they used to do it in the 80’s.
All that sounds at the same time modern and sentimental. And who knows how far this sentimentality goes. Those falsetto parts might have been inspired by the new romantic/synthpop wave, but as well by classical opera.
