Electronic duo Rebeka are among the hardest-working Polish bands as well as one of our scene’s most successful export artists. And their recent LP is among the best albums we heard over here in the first half of 2016.

The duo of Iwona Skwarek and Bartosz Szczęsny have developed a version of electronic pop that preserves the human element in spite of its modernity, and ubiquity of great hooks is balanced by darkish atmosphere. In other words, it may not work in your typical club. But will work anywhere else.

Inspired by Thomas Mann’s classic book “The Magic Mountain“, their second album “Davos” came out in spring and if we summed up the current year right now, it would certainly appear close to the peak. It’s a good moment to come back to that record as Rebeka have just got back on the road. Apart from touring Poland, they’ll also play in Dresden and at the biggest music event in our region, Sziget Festival in Hungary.
