Rodrigo Amarante

Rodrigo Amarante is the former lead singer of Los Hermanos, one of the biggest Brazilian bands of the past decade. He’s also a member of the band Little Joy together with Binki Shapiro and Fabrizio Moretti (from The Strokes).

“Hourglass” comes from his first solo release “Cavalo”, released this year, which mixes lyrics in Portuguese, English and French.

In this song, Amarante addresses the issues of passing time and people’s hunger to achieve something. The clip was directed by the musician himself, with retro and surreal images. Differing from what Amarante used to do with Los Hermanos, “Cavalo” has divided his fans with some of them loving it, and some being disappointed. We belong to the first group.
