The Hungarian music scene is currently undergoing a serious redefining process. And in such a hype period as this one, there are many directions to choose from.
Selected Sounds Label’s first ever electronic music selection focuses on the latest musicians from that genre so they can be a little bit “louder” and reach more and more people. So let’s have a look!
9b0 – “Through”
The monotonous end empty song from 9b0 really makes us think but also gives us a really unsettled feeling. Sometimes the delightful piano notes just make us even more worried. But this is also the best song to refresh your moves on floor at 4am.
mïus – “Precious Moments” ft. Dóri Hegyi
At beginning I personally still felt the backwash of “Through”, but this continuously growing song finds is high point somewhere else. It ends in a major, much more pleasant melody as a kind of musical solution.
iamyank – “Silence Pt. 2”
We already have two texts about iamyank so maybe some of you are already familiar with this this producer’s work. His album “Hiraeth” was the first release of Selected Sounds and this song is a special version for this collection.
yvein monq – “MOM”
If audio mosaics existed, they would definitely sound like yven mong’s piece. In some really brave turns, he’s changing voices of the song making me feel as if I was listening to something more. Like it wasn’t only music but more like an audio-painting.
Volkova Sisters – “Taksony”
The Volkova Sisters are also not new to beehype readers. Their mystic sounds appear in this song as well. With the folk music elements and human voices in the background, it’s a folk ballad for me. A musical tale with a massage.
surfalone – “Halszív” ft. Laura Döbrösi
Last but not least here is a debut song on the EP. In this first track from surfalone, we get a quite aggressive and confident bass and a beautiful vocal part. The meeting of these two is something like a “living-apart-together” relationship. Two separate entities working next to each other in a perfect harmony.
