With just two singles released yet, the young quartet Sour Cheeks already seems like one of the most promising acts in the Quezon City alt rock scene.
Late last year they emerged with a slightly melancholic note with a straightforward and vulnerable song “Slight“, a classic indie pop piece that felt like the beginning of something beautiful. On their second offer, “Anymore”, they brighten up delivering a perfect soundtrack for summer forays out into the green.
The sunny guitar arrangement soon turns out to camouflage a story about a broken relationship that’s long gone – except for memories. But eventually, “you’ve got to make yourself feel fine”, Pauline Rana sings, and the song itself seems like the best help.
